Lord Mayor’s Show (1914-1918)

Lord Mayor’s Show - London crowds cheer gallant troops. Several shots of Lord Mayor’s Show procession along London streets. Motor vehicles carry field guns (or anti-aircraft guns?) and searchlights, followed by troops in white helmets carrying bayonets. Several soldiers at work in a large field gun. M/S of gun with plaque in front of it, saying it is a 41 inch German field gun, with details of where it was recovered from (writing is too small to see, and timecode obscures some of it on this vhs copy). Soldiers work on the gun again - one seems to be winching it up on a chain. More shots of the parade (looks like quite a horrible, rainy day, weatherwise, with lots of umbrellas in the crowd). Troops march along, including Anzacs. Lord Mayor, mace bearer and officials get out of a horse-drawn carriage and walk up steps to a building - Mansion House? Policemen in rain capes stand watching. Guards in long white raincoats carry umbrellas over the officials. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH P
