Their music has captured hearts and minds across the contingent since 2009. Originally setup as a studio project, Caro Emerald became an overnight sensation when they released debut album “Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor” in 2010 on their own label Grandmono Records. Featuring 12 original songs, the album blends vintage latin and jazz, 40’-50’s soundtracks and bigbands with hiphop beats and samples, without ever sounding retro. The strong songs and inventive production paired with Caro’s sultry voice, Vince’s intricate lyrics, the imaginative arrangements and the evocative artwork gained massive momentum in 2010, and the album became the longest charting album in Dutch history, including a record breaking 30 weeks at #1. Not too shabby for a DIY project. Follow up “The Shocking Miss Emerald” (2013), partly recorded at Abbey Road 2 with strings and horns arranged by Jules Buckley entered at #1 in both the UK and NL. The album featured successful songs like “Tangled Up” (co-written by Guy Chambers), “Liquid Lunch” and the Bond-ish “I Belong To You”. Combined, album sales reached well over 2 million to date and Caro Emerald has performed on main stages and festivals all over Europe.
