At least 18 people were killed in a suspected Islamic State attack in a desert area on Wednesday, with IS showing signs of a resurgence amid the instability in the Middle East. IS reportedly opened fire at a group of truffle hunters in the desert area of an eastern province that borders Iraq. Some of those killed were reportedly members of the pro-government National Defence Forces who were supervising the truffle hunting.
