She spent her childhood travelling between Switzerland, Sudan, Egypt and the Emirates within a Sufi Order, which left its marks on her. Her visual interpretation of TSVI’s track ‘Whirl’, which mixes bellydance drums with elements of tarraxo and moombahton, aims to celebrate spiritual Sufi practices. Both TSVI and Suleika Mueller are interested in the way sufi practices use music and dance to get into trance which is reflected in both the track and the visuals. The video features Egyptian Tanoura dancer Waleed Elmassry, who comes from a family of professional Tanoura dancers in Cairo.
