Heart wrenching conversations under mortar shells by the Avdiivka frontline

We venture with Sasha and Nastya to the frontline, literally a stone-throw from Avdiivka. This is a place that no journalists dare venture to, as every house is damaged by the constant shelling. We have emotional conversations with the remaining civilians, mostly elderly and disabled. One is a woman who lost her legs to a mine a few months ago. As we talk the shelling never stops although they assured us this is a quiet time of the day. It was a tough day, as both Sasha and I were brought to tears by the emotions of the encounter.
