This hike starts a 1/2 mile before the trailhead due to the road being impassable except for serious 4x4 vehicles with owners that don’t care about the paint.
After arriving at the last place you can safely drive, (I saw Tesla’s parked there) hike in about 1/2 mile to the trailhead and then onto a forest footpath. You’ll get the chance to cross a wide log over a small ravine, (see video) pass Cottonwood Lake, intersect with the Pacific Crest Trail and then arrive at Mirror Lake. It’s a pristine and beautiful lake that just begs to be camped by and swam in. :)
