(14 Jan 2008) HEADLINE: UFO sightings cause a stir in small Texas town --------------------------------------- CAPTION: Residents of Stephenville, Texas say a UFO has been hovering over their small town. A network of UFO investigators are headed to the area to check out the claims. (Jan. 15) ---------------------------------------- [Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] Stephenville Texas is a typical American small town, the folks here are proud of their high schools football team, and proud to be the number one dairy county in the state.. Stephenville may be typical, but what’s happening in the skies above it is a whole nother story.. (sot) It’s kind of is the talk of the town right now.. (vo) Angelia joiner is a reporter with the towns newspaper, she is now on the strangest and possibly the biggest story of her life… for days now people have been emailing and calling the newsroom saying they’ve seen a ufo.. (sot) It was very intense bright lights, I keep hearing that over and over and they spanned a large area.. (nats) I actually thought about shooting the thing and then realized maybe that’s not what I should do.. (vo) Ricky sorrels was deer hunting in these woods when he says the ufo stopped and hovered just over his head.. (sot) I remember looking and I thought what was that, and I did just like that, and it was right here, 300 feet up…************** (vo) Ricky thought about shooting at the object, but didn’t want to start an interstellar war. So he lowered his gun and high tailed it back to the house.. He still isn’t sure what it was (sot) How man could make something that big sit in the air I don’t know, but I’m not nasa… maybe one day we’ll know, or maybe not (nats) I saw it at about 70 degrees up from the horizon and it zoomed to the south.. (vo) Jason lee also saw the object, describing it as a bright light in the sky, brighter than a star and larger--- it isn’t the first time lee has seen a ufo, in 1995 he took this video of what he says was a flying saucer over his hometown of Cleburne Texas… And he believes this recent sighting too was not of this earth.. (sot) What I thought it was is some technology from another dimension another world, I’m not gonna say little green men, I’m going to say this was an object that had intelligent control… (VO) According to the mutual ufo network there are about 200 reported ufo sightings a month in the u.s. the network is sending investigators to look into these recent reports..
