Stepan Bandera was the founder of Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists and one of the inspirators of the creation of Ukrainain Insurgent Army, who have been attempting to create a free Ukrainian state from late 1920th until the 1950th. They have fought against Poland, Nazi Germany and Soviet Union. During WWII Stepan Bandera was a prisoner of nazi concentration camp and was assassinated by a KGB agent in 1959. The author of the song remains unknown.
