The Terminator 1984: Endoskeleton Interpolation RIFE vs Original 4K Remastered Scene

Full version: This small project came out of a desire to use the potential of AI interpolation to help smooth out the movements of stop motion animations whilst retaining a cinematic framerate and recreating a somewhat believable motion blur effect. The endoskeleton footage was interpolated 4x utilizing the RIFE AI implementation present in the software Flowframes . This footage was then downsampled back to its original inside Adobe After Effects, smoothing out the jittery movements and adding a relatively convincing motion blur effect on top. Some slight camera shake and color correction was added to enhance some of the more static stop motion shots. Im quite pleased with this initial result and intend to improve these shots with more advanced and state of the art interpolation models. Get Flowframes:
