The State of Obesity

This past installment of the Division of Occupational Medicine grand rounds, on Friday 01-December-2023, focused on obesity as a disease state as described by Dr. Lofton. Dr. Holly F. Lofton obtained her medical degree from The Medical College of Georgia, and completed Internal Medicine residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, and a fellowship in Obesity Medicine and Nutrition at Geisinger Medical Center. She directs the Medical Weight Management Program at NYU Langone Health and served as the program director of the Clinical Obesity Medicine fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Lofton speaks internationally on topics related to obesity. She is involved in research examining the effects of liraglutide on people who have regained weight after bariatric surgery, and serves as principal investigator for multiple clinical trials for medications being developed for obesity management.
