CONTROL is about feeling the loss of something you never had. About knowing that there’s something more, cracking and peeking back at you at the edges of your daily mundanity. In CONTROL the grey-suited salaryman confronts the daily minutiae of his life; he eats breakfast, works on his laptop, drinks before bed. He is trapped in its amber, endlessly repeating his routine as it falls apart around him.
Somewhere between consuming its soothing balm and raging against its stifling boundaries, the salaryman can’t help but be a product of the environment he has created for himself. His world fractures around him, becoming monstrous and darting away before anyone can get a good look.
There’s a soaring freedom that comes with letting go of CONTROL, and an abject hopelessness in realising you never had any.
