Wind Octail no.1 - Gigue (Henri)

Wind Octail no.1 in F major - composed in the memory of Henri. It is an original ~1-minute piece composed in a baroque gigue dance style, orchestrated for woodwind octet. Henri’s fabulous hair reminds me a lot of the ornamentation in baroque architecture. Therefore, when I started working on Henri’s piece I felt his appearance needed to be paired with a stylized baroque-ish theme. I have been told by Henri’s human that he was a very happy dog and I wanted to reflect it in the music as well so eventually, I came up with this baroque-style joyful gigue and I think it suits both his personality and appearance pretty well! I really hope this piece would serve as a meaningful way of memorializing Henri for his humans.
