The United Nations says rape and sexual assault have become widespread in the conflict in Sudan
The United Nations says sexual violence is increasingly being used as a weapon of war in Sudan.
Attacks have become widespread as the army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces battle for control.
More than 130 cases have officially been reported, but rights activists say the real number is much higher.
Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan is live in Khartoum and Ahmed Idris is in neighbouring Chad with Sudanese refugees who’ve fled the conflict.
