Mayfair Club Party at 1939 prices. London. Good L/S of numerous people inside the Mayfair Club. M/S of comedian Sam Costa, calling for a drink of whiskey which costs a 1/-. C/U Calendar 1939, with price list of wines of those times. M/S Costa proceeds to buy another drink for a 1/-. M/S Shelf full of popular brands of cigarettes at 10 for 6d. M/S Costa buys 10 Players and smokes a cigarette, picks up newspaper, “Evening Standard“, containing the Budget head lines.
