How to Crochet the Malia Beanie + Slouch

*** IMPORTANT SIZING INFO BELOW! *** Crochet the Malia Beanie or the Malia Slouch along with me! These patterns are part of the Malia Crochet-Along (#maliacal) and are also available on my blog at and My hook size: I (sorry I didn’t disclose this in the video, I don’t know how I missed it! Crucial info!) That said... DO A GAUGE CHECK! See the original blog posts for info. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SIZING NOTE: Many people (who DID do an accurate gauge check) are finding the finished measurements of the hat to be too large. If you prefer more of a snug fit, there are now instructions on the blog for a teen / adult small size (and I’m calling the size in the video “adult medium / large“). YOU CAN STILL FOLLOW THE VIDEO if you’re doing the small size! Your first 3 rounds will be slightly different, but after that, the pattern is the same. Simply follow these instructions for the first 3 rounds, whether you’re doing the slouch or the beanie: Round 1: 12 SC in a magic circle (instead of 14 as stated), join (12) Round 2: CH1, 2 SC in each ST around, join (24) Round 3: CH1, 3 SC in each ST around, join (72) ... after this, follow the video tutorial for the vertical rows. Once you get to the repeats, you’ll simply follow the same repeats until you make it all the way around the circle. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CAL Homepage: How to Make a Magic Circle:
