Sometimes Size Matters The Leica Leica APO-Telyt-R 5,6/1600mm

In our latest Issue #22 we talk about a unicorn amongst lenses. Marwan, Editor-in-Chief of SilvergrainClassics, was thrilled when he was unexpectedly given the chance to use the legendary Leica APO-Telyt-R 5.6/1600 mm lens. Originally made for photographing desert falcons, he used it for an unusual portrait session at Leica headquarters in Wetzlar. The lens is insured for 10 million Euros and is one of only three ever made; no photo is known to have been taken with this particular lens before. He had the lovely Juliette as his model — If you do something crazy, do it right! And since Matt Parry from Harmann was present, he spontaneously decided to shoot the new Harmann Phoenix film. You can see the results for yourself!
