Russian artist K Loveski has been a beloved figure of the progressive house underground for well over a decade. A series of releases for Omid 16B’s Alola Records spearheaded what has been a thirteen-year creative swell. The Saint-Petersburg resident now boasts a resume highlighted by releases via Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, Balance Music, Mango Alley and Or Two Strangers, while also earning the support of Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J along the way. Meanwhile, Argentinean artist Geronimo Eguiguren has also made his mark since first emerging in 2019. Longstanding imprints Balkan Connection, Droid9 and Soundteller Records were comfortable homes for Geronimo early on. However, it was 2022 which proved to be a breakout year for the Buenos Aires resident, with a release via Antrim’s Or Two Strangers yielding play and support from Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Sebastien Leger. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, K Loveski and Geronimo Eguiguren make their Clubsonica debut with ’Chaia | Kamikaze’, alongside remixes from Simos Tagias and Ruben Karapetyan. he first interpretation of ’Kamikaze’ is provided by Simos Tagias who returns to the label for his third appearance. Since first emerging a decade ago, the Greek artist has continued to earn the praise of progressive music tastemakers Cid Inc, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Revered imprints such as Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Replug and Sudbeat have all served as recent landing spots for his groovy melodic sound. Clubsonica has also been a comfortable home for the Greek artist, having remixed two projects for the label beginning with his debut in 2018. Now, following his latest vehicle for GMJ and Matter’s Meanwhile, Simos makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a poignant rendition of ’Kamikaze’. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, the Greek artist crafts a sweeping sonic experience all his own, one where redolent themes and heartfelt sonics blanket voluptuous grooves and flashing percussive arrangements. Coming to full fruition across the main break, it’s a bucolic college of texture and effects which serves to elevate mood onwards to a thumping finale.
