Alec Baldwin on Family Courts 2008

Some good stuff here but also this statement (and others) which displays his blind side to the destructive role that lawyers play in society. “What’s better for our society than a good lawyer? What’s better for our society than people who know the law, study hard, it’s alot ot learn and there is alot to learn and they get these law degrees and they go out into the world to really help people.“ Some individuals lawyers may attempt to maintain a sense of morality in the courts but overall the profession is bereft of it. Lawyers are trained to start their billing clock when they speak, not to help people, and to maintain good relations with the court system no matter how unjust the activities. The legal regime industry needs to be pared down to its roots until justice, not profit, becomes the norm.
