This track sure reminds me of that cold night in New Jersey when Ray and I recorded “One Mint Julep,“ about a hundred years ago. It’s the same kind of . feeling. That means Baptist Young People’s Union. Anyway, Ray got to groovin’ so good on “Booty-Butt“ that he couldn’t resist sneakin’ in a little soulful hum, and that got so good he had to go back and overdub it a few times more. And if you think Ray Charles sounds good by himself, just imagine four of him singing together. And the beat goes on.
