Man Armed With Knife and Crossbow Gets Shot by LA Deputies

* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Lancaster, California — On Sunday, June 5, 2022, at approximately 1:40 PM, Lancaster Station deputies responded to a business in the 1800 block of West Avenue J in the city of Lancaster, regarding a suicidal person with a knife. A male called 911 and made suicidal statements. The male was later identified as 51-year-old Ricky Jimenez. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Jimenez holding a knife in his right hand just outside of the location. Deputies ordered him to drop the weapon, but he did not comply. Deputies fired a Taser and a 40MM deuce launcher at Jimenez, but they had minimal effect. Jimenez removed a pistol grip crossbow from his backpack, raised the crossbow in the direction of deputy personnel, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.
