Chileans gathered in Santiago on the 51st anniversary of the 1973 coup to honor the victims of Pinochet’s regime. The commemoration turned into a protest, with demonstrators throwing objects at the police and setting fire to barricades on the road. Police had to deploy tear gas to disperse the troublemakers.
