The Rhythm Aces (1935)

Titles read: ’NOW Pathe Pictorial has pleasure in presenting - THE RHYTHM ACES - Another popular Radio and Variety turn’. Pathe Studio, London. Various shots of the Rhythm Aces - two women and one man - standing in front of a grand piano and singing the novelty song ’Oh By Jingo’ in close harmony. They are accompanied by a man at the piano. The two women wear evening gowns and the man is in white tie and tails. The lead part of the song is taken by one of the women - she has a rather severe hairstyle (slicked down on top then curly at the back and sides behind the ears) and an animated face with very thin eyebrows. The other woman doesn’t get many shots - perhaps because her nose is quite large. The man seems a bit effeminate, especially beside these two tall and slightly mannish women. Quite an interesting-looking trio! Their version of the song is quite entertaining (but I prefer Danny Kaye’s). FILM ID:1650.2 A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
