How to Disable Camera & Microphone Sensors on Android 10, 11, 12, & 13

Google worked to build in a “hidden“ way to disable all sensors on Android 10 through Android 13. Some OEMs have removed this feature, but it’s still present in the firmware for most phones. ~~~~~ Hi! Whether by government agents or just random hackers, we should all realize that we carry around a computer device capable of recording audio and video. Even today, people have a habit of putting a sticker over webcams because they can’t trust that a hacker hasn’t broken into their PC to watch them. Some with Android smartphones and tablets have thought about putting a sticker over the camera but for many of us it just isn’t feasible. So I appreciate the work Google put into Android that allows us to disable all sensors on our smartphone or tablet. As long as you’re running Android 11 or Android 12, this feature seems to be in place. However, I have spotted some Chinese OEMs actually put in the work to BLOCK this feature from appearing in the Settings area. Remember, this is a feature Google coded into Android. So if your smartphone OEM removed this feature (I see this across many Xiaomi & OPPO phones), then think about switching to a custom ROM in order to regain the feature (and gain so much more).
