There is no shortage of it out there, with multiple recordings from world-class musicians like the Canadian Brass quintet widely available. But I realized something was missing. These pro albums feature fantastic arrangements with lots of key changes, dramatic medleys, and virtuoso fanfare endings that are interesting to listen to, but don’t lend themselves to singing along with. So I set out to fill that gap with an hour of simple choral arrangements for brass quartet. Most of these are adapted from the 1928 Oxford Book of Carols and feature trumpet (soprano), trumpet (alto), horn (tenor), and euphonium (bass). So put this Christmas album on the kitchen speakers at a moderate volume while you bake gingerbread cookies and hum along! Download: Sheet music of these arrangements in PDF and MuseScore format:
