On-point: Israel hints at expanding Gaza war to Lebanon. Why?

이스라엘•헤즈볼라 충돌 격화 “두 개의 전면전 가능성“ Fears are mounting that the Israel-Hamas war could spill over into a full-blown regional conflict. And Israel appears to have no interest whatsoever in deescalating tensions in the Middle East. Let’s turn to Professor Austin Knuppe this morning. Thanks for coming onto our program. 1. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Hezbollah that it should learn from what has happened to Hamas in the recent months of devastation in Gaza. What might be the consequences of a full on war with Hezbollah? 2. Washington is worried that Netanyahu could wage war on Hezbollah for political gain. Is that so? 3. But even if Israel focused a full military campaign against Hezbollah an American intelligence assessment believes it will be difficult for Israeli forces to succeed in such a war. What are your thoughts on the assessment? 4. In relation to the previous question, what many officials also fear is that a full-scale conflict between Israel and Lebanon would be worse than the bloodshed seen in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war. Is that so? 5. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has returned to the region, seeking to avert a wider Middle East war. This is already his fourth diplomatic mission to the area. Will his trip this time be any fruitful? Thanks so much for joining us. We appreciate it as always. #Israeli_strike #Hezbollah #Lebanese_militant_group #Israeli_attack #Middle_East #Gaza_war #이스라엘_공습 #헤즈볼라 #Arirang_News #아리랑뉴스 📣 Facebook : 📣 Twitter : 📣 Homepage : 2024-01-09, 09:00 (KST)
