Game Recap: Penguins vs. Devils () | Jeff Carter Scores His First with Pittsburgh

This one sure was a goal-scoring bonanza. The Penguins scored the first six goals of the game to go up 6-0 through two periods. Matheson, Rust, Dumoulin, Carter, Blueger, and Rodrigues each scored. Jeff Carter’s goal was his first tally as a member of the Penguins. Then, in the 3rd period, things took a turn. The Devils kicked off the final frame with a goal just 41 seconds in. Then, two more New Jersey players found the scoresheet. Sidney Crosby scored just over 11 minutes into the 3rd from a sharp angle to get the Penguins to 7 goals... Then New Jersey scored 3 more. It was a wild ride, but the Penguins hung on to win the contest. Five different Pittsburgh players recorded multiple points: Crosby (1G-1A), Rodrigues (1G-1A), Rust (1G-1A), Guentzel (2A), and McCann (2A).
