System Shock 1994-2023 Comparison: Original vs Remaster vs Remake

Today the remake of the classic System Shock was released. I compare the game with the floppy disk version of the original (1994), with the CD version (1994), with the Mac version (1995) and with the remaster (System Shock Enhanced Edition, 2015/2018). The Nightdive Studios remake uses the Unreal engine, while the remaster (also by Nightdive Studios) uses the KEX engine. The remake of course offers much more detail and better controls, however I don’t like the art style of the mutants at all. What do you think? About the importance of System Shock: it was the model for numerous games like Deus Ex, Bioshock, Dead Space or Prey (2017). The 1994 cyberpunk action adventure game was built on Ultima Underworld 2’s engine and thus offered “real“ 3D graphics compared to Doom.
