“1941“ is the third song from the album called “Mi se zovemo Tito“ (“Our name is Tito“). The song describes two major events in 1941 - the German invasion of Yugoslavia and call-to-arms by Communist Party of Yugoslavia.
The song starts slow and sad, describing the event where innocent children, who played their games outside, got killed by German bombers. Instead of mentioning the death itself, the song uses more mild descriptions, like mentioning how children were put to sleep with the bombs, making them children forever.
The second part of the song is much faster and angry, mentioning a “death sentence“ (invasion) coming to a poor underdeveloped country of Yugoslavia. However, the country does not stay and watch as the invader approaches.
