Pepper’s Adventures in Time (1993) PC Complete Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Sierra’s 1993 PC game Pepper’s Adventure in Time. An interesting relic of a time when companies, even after they became genre-behemoths like Sierra managed to early on, weren’t averse to taking risks on new properties or branching out in unique directions. This one was meant for kids: a classically styled PC graphic adventure that seeks to teach kids about the circumstances leading eventually to the American Revolution in a genuinely fun and amusing way. Pepper’s crazed grandfather builds a time machine, and seeks disrupt the creation of a new republic by giving Ben Franklin and his colonial contemporaries a good dose of 1960’s flower child apathy. Pepper and her dog Lockjaw go back in time to set right everything that’s gone wrong to save the not yet established United States of America. I played this for the first time around 1994 when I was in the seventh grade, and learned a ton from it. But, it still holds up as an awesome adventure game today, educational or not. While not quite on par with classics like Gabriel Knight and King’s Quest VI, it certainly stands head and shoulders above most of Sierra’s quality back-catalogue. It also features the talents of several Sierra luminaries, including Lorelei Shannon, Jane Jensen, and Mark Seibert, all known for their efforts on better recognized titles. If you find yourself wanting to give it a go, check out Mark Seibert’s homepage (). In addition to a free download of the game, he’s posted a load of information that will be extremely interesting to anyone who enjoyed Sierra’s games in their hey-day. Hope you enjoy the playthrough! ___________________________ NintendoComplete () punches you in the face with in-depth reviews, screenshot archives, and music from classic 8-bit NES games!
