Track Downloads (pdf, mp3 or mp4) with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

Do you have Downloads on your Website? Probably and you should be tracking them. Unfortunately you can’t implement the Google Analytics Tracking Code into a PDF, MP3 or MP4 (video). We therefore need to take a step back and see who clicked on the Link to download the items. With the build in auto-event Tracking of Google Tag Manager this is accomplished pretty easily. You simply install a Trigger and configure it to only fire when a user clicks on a Link with the that contains pdf, mp3 or mp4.
