Dusseldorf International Airport Walk & SkyTrain: Oberbilk is an large multicultural inner-city urban district in the south-east of the German city of Düsseldorf. The back exit of the Central Station leads to Oberbilk. The new District Court of Düsseldorf is located in Oberbilk since 2010, as is the main office of the Communal Library of Düsseldorf. Oberbilk is also home to the Mitsubishi Electric Halle, a concert arena with a capacity for 7,500. The Volksgarten is a park from the late 19th century in Düsseldorf, which has been integrated into the Südpark since the Bundesgartenschau 1987. The Volksgarten was created during the expansion phase of the city of Düsseldorf in the course of the Industrial Revolution. At that time Düsseldorf planned to upgrade the city area with several parks. The Ostpark, the Florapark and the Düsseldorf Zoo date from the same era. I am starting this walk at the Oberbilker Markt station, then taking a quick stroll through the cozy shopping street, pass the Oberbilk train station and finish my tour after arriving at the Volksgarten Park.
