Addressing union workers in Pittsburgh, in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania, Biden, 81, introduced his vice-president and the Democratic Party’s candidate for the White House as a worthy successor to his lifelong support for the labour movement. With just over two months before polling day, Harris has enlisted Biden to help her shore up the working-class votes that have drifted towards Trump in the battleground states expected to decide the 2024 election.
