The world’s first raspberry-picking robot can pick 25,000 a day

The first ever raspberry-picking robot has gone on trial in the UK, using a robotic arm to pick a raspberry in ten seconds or less. Standing at tall, the battery-powered machine on wheels is guided by sensors and 3D cameras, to soften or stiffen its grip according to the ripeness of the fruit. The robot is being developing at a time when the farming industry is battling rising labour costs and Brexit-related shortages of seasonal workers.
