Repairing a Mini DV tape is actually not very difficult at all, once you have the right tools. In many ways, it’s very similar to the VHS tape repair and audio tape repair. Although tapes can become damaged in many different ways, tape breaking is one of the most common types of damage to these miniDV tapes. In this video, I will show how to repair a Mini DV cassette with a damaged or split tape. 1. First, you will need a Phillips Head screwdriver 2. Unscrew the 4 nails in a counterclockwise motion 3. Carefully remove the bottom cover by gently pulling it up 4. Open the inner flap and remove the spools by pulling it up 5. Inspect your film and find the section where it’s damaged 6. Use scissors to cut the damaged section 7. Remove the damaged film by cutting it in an angle 8. Get a small piece of tape and connect the 2 ends together 9.
