Huge explosion at Russian military site after drone attack
Footage obtained from eyewitness shows a massive explosion in the Tikhoretsk district of Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
Debris from one of the drones caused a fire that spread to “explosive objects,“ leading to detonations, according to regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev. The incident occurred on September 21, when two drones were intercepted by Russian air defence units.
Kondratyev confirmed that residents are being evacuated as a precaution, though no casualties have been reported.
The Tikhoretsk district is home to a significant ammunition depot, which has reportedly expanded in recent months to store munitions from North Korea. While Governor Kondratyev did not confirm the exact location of the explosions, Russian news outlet Astra suggested that the ammunition depot was the target.
This attack follows a similar strike on September 18, when Ukrainian drones targeted a major weapons depot in Toropets, Tver Oblast.
