From the potential for a good life there, to the conditions that make Mars a viable planet to colonize on, join me as we explore 9 reasons we should go to Mars!

9. We Can’t Stay On Earth
Throughout human history, there is a singular goal that has driven much of humanity and beyond: survival. When we were in the ice age we made fires and fur coats and did what we could to survive. When we got the ability to grow our worlds, we did so. When we felt there were threats that could endanger our lives or the lives of our loved ones, we fought back. And when the time came to advance ourselves, we made new technologies to create new possibilities.
One of the biggest ones it’ll help potentially solve is overpopulation.
8. Finding More Truths On Mars
While it is very true that a lot of people want to go to Mars because of the very basic fact that they think it’s a viable planet to live on (more on that later), there is another major factor in the decision to go there. And it’s a bit more scientific. You see, when it comes to Mars, we both know a lot, and very little. Over the many decades of the space program we have landed rovers on Mars, gotten soil sample, rocks, found water on Mars, clay on Mars, learned more about its history and its atmosphere, etc. On the whole, that feels like a lot. But in truth? It’s only scratching the surface of the red planet and what’s really on it.
7. This Goal Advances Our Technology
Humanity can be very intelligent, over the many hundreds of thousands of years of life, humanity has gone from using sticks to fight, to having drones that can be remote-controlled hundreds of miles away. We’ve gone from riding horses, to flying in the sky at mach speed. It’s incredible, but if you look at the history of many of these wonderful inventions, you’ll see that some came by accident (Penicillin, X-Rays, etc), and some had to be created with a serious goal in their minds (engines, Atomic Boom, etc.).
“Only by pushing mankind to its limits, to the bottoms of the ocean and into space, will we make discoveries in science and technology that can be adapted to improve life on Earth.“
. This inspired Elon Musk (among others) to try and light the fire under the world again by daring to go into space via his own space organization Space X. What’s more, he realized that he could make spaceships at a fraction of the cost if done right.
6. Its Inspiring!
There was a time a few decades ago when people looked up at space and wondered, “What’s up there?“ Then, with the birth of NASA and the space program, many kids and adults dreamed of being the next person to go to the stars, to go to the moon, to go to the International Space Station, and more.
5. The Morale Of The World
I’m sure you’ll think we’re waxing poetic with this one, but I assure you that this is meant to be honest in the biggest way possible. For those of you who remember what it was like when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon, it wasn’t just a “good moment“, it was indeed an inspiring one. But just as important, it was a major milestone in human history!
4. Its Honestly the Best Viable Candidate
So let’s get to the heart of the matter here for a sec, ok? There’s a reason why humanity is so deadset on Mars being the planet we try and colonize on. It’s because after decades of research, and test probes, and satellite imagery and samples being sent by Rovers and such, Mars just simply is the best candidate for trying to make a colony on other world.
3. The History Of Our Solar System
Another big reason to go to Mars isn’t scientific per se, but more of a historical venture. While there’s no doubt we’d learn more about Mars once we land on the planet, there is a bigger aim here.
2. Why Not?
It may sound trite, but it’s true. Why not go to Mars? Why just let it set there uninhabited? Don’t we have something of a moral obligation to at least try? Should we really just be here on Earth and remain stagnant in our ways and beliefs? Many would argue that this is a direct conflict to human nature.
Humans love to explore, humanity loves to push the boundaries of what we can and can’t do. Humanity WANTS to be anything but stagnant.
So to them, you would ask, “Why in the world would you risk everything to go to Mars?“ and they would reply, “Why not?“
1. Landing On Mars Will Kickstart Our Expansion Across The Galaxy
So we’ve thrown a lot of interesting and various facts as to why we need to go to Mars. But there’s one other major reason that we need to go there beyond survival, beyond science, beyond achieving a dream and more. We need to go it’s the beginning of...
