- The RG CoP 2022 2024 guide - CBD rotations explained with examples and exercises

Hello everyone! 🥳 this video we are taking a closer look at the ones we used to call ‘pivots with change of shape’ in the old (😱) CoP, which now are identified as CBD of the type ‘rotation rotation’ 💫 Quick (incomplete) reminder about CBDs 🤓: 📌 two Body Difficulties of different shape connected in a consecutive manner; 📌 If a gymnast combines 3 Body difficulties in a valid manner (for rotations: without change of support leg nor extra steps between Difficulties, without heel support nor plié during the connection), the first two Difficulties are valid as a CBD, whereas the third one will be considered an isolated DB (see clip 6️⃣); 📌 Each of the two DB of the CBD must each be performed with one different Fundamental or Non-fundamental apparatus technical element (see clip 5️⃣ where the apparatus handling is identical for both rotations of the CBD, that is unstable balance of the ball over the head); 📌 it is possible to use penché rotation as a second part of a CBD (see clip 4️⃣); In clip 2️⃣ the apparatus handling for passé (hoop rotation around a body part) could be performed earlier in the shape. The tonneau in clip 6️⃣ doesn’t actually present a valid handling, as both arms and clubs are still when the trunk is rotating. ❗Remember that when judging rotations we consider as valid only FULL turns (either 180 or 360 degrees depending on the shape). Solutions to the exercises ☑️: ex. 1) CBD 0.8 (arabesque 0.5 - handlings “unstable balance” of the ball held over the head and “small throw and catch” tonneau 0.3 - handling “unstable balance” of the ball held at the side of the body); ex. 2) CBD 0.5 (free leg at horizontal 0.3 - handling “unstable balance” of the ball held over the head passé fwd 0.2 - handling “transmission around a body part from hand to hand”); ex. 3) CBD 1.0 (back split no help with horizontal trunk 0.9 - handlings “movement of the ribbon around the body created by the stick held with the hand during a DB rotation” and “transmission under the leg” passé fwd 0.1 - handling “movement of the ribbon around the body…” on a different level); ex. 4) CBD 0.0 (invalid “unstable balance” position according to the new CoP: the unstable club should be in contact with the outer part of the arm/hand); ex. 5) CBD 0.9 (free leg at horizontal 0.5 - handling “unstable balance” of the ball held over the head penché 0.4 - handling “series of small bounces min. 3 below knee level from the floor”) Follow me on Instagram for other educational videos about the Code of Points 🤓
