Sweet dog completely disoriented after head injury…

She’s beautiful to look at--sleek, with a strong young body, her glossy coat in good condition. Inside though, is an electrical firestorm. She’s completely disoriented after suffering a trauma to her head, having been hit by a car. She will die without emergency help. Motorists contact Animal Aid and we hurry her to our hospital. There, we find her so unresponsive that even when we inject her with pain medicine and anti-inflammation meds she doesn’t even flinch. We stabilize and nourish her with an IV drip. She seems not to recognize food, though her body must be craving it. We named her Musli. By the second day it’s as if her tongue remembers this thing called “eating“ though her eyes remain utterly blank. But please, watch until the end--Musli does not regain her full palette of skills, but her eyes are bright, she moves with coordination and best of all, Rose has become, again, a girl who wants to live and recognizes love.
