The countries of Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso announced the exit from ECOWAS and the strengthening of the Alliance of Sahel States (EAS), a new organization created on September 16, 2023, which aims to displace French influence in the region and unite the African countries of the Sahel in a new direction outside of foreign entities.
