Scrap buster #16: Wonky spikes on stripes - strings and leftover fabric ideas, easy patchwork.

My string bucket is overflowing again. I don’t want to make another simple string block quilt. I also have plenty of black scraps from my other blocks (check shattered square tutorial) which I wanted to use up. So, in this design from combinations of colourful strips of fabrics and black plain fabric, I made these spiky wonky blocks which can be put together in so many layouts on their own or mixed with other blocks. Or how about to use as a border? I used mix of fabric types, new and recycled. This type of design gives opportunity to be very creative and use up scraps from various sources. All blocks are being squared up so it’s very beginner friendly. They will all match perfectly when put together.
