M6.2 earthquake struck the coast of Taiwan. A strong and shallow earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 hit near the coast of Taiwan. The  USGS  agency is reporting a depth of 29 km. Walls creaked as office buildings shook. Lights swayed and mirrors and pictures fell to the floor. The epicenter was located about 64 km of Hualien City and 98 km of Yilan. Even in the capital of Taipei, buildings swayed from the earthquake. There are 660 000 people living within 100 km. More then 15 million people are estimated to have felt light shaking.
