Temple of the Winged Lions Cultural Resource Management (TWLCRM) Initiative: Lessons... [ASOR 2021]

The Temple of the Winged Lions Cultural Resource Management (TWLCRM) Initiative: Lessons in Sustainable Preservation, Accessibility, and Community Engagement from Petra, Jordan [ASOR 2021] Starting in 2009, Petra’s Temple of the Winged Lions became the focus of an innovative program of social engagement with local communities, undertaken by The American Center of Research in cooperation with the Department of Antiquities (@Jor_antiquities) and the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority. Its aim has been to preserve and bring new life to this fascinating Nabatean archaeological site, excavated from 1974 to 2005. In this video from the 2021 annual meeting of the American Schools of Oriental Research (@ASOResearch), former associate director John D. M. Green and Glenn Corbett present lessons learned during the Temple of the Winged Lions Cultural Management Project (TWLCM).
