Llegó a devolver todos los trofeos de la Guerra de la Triple Alianza y confirmar el acto de 1942 en que Argentina condonaba al Paraguay toda la deuda de guerra. El momento culminante de esta tercera visita fue el 16 de Agosto, en la Plaza Juan de Salazar, cuando ante el pueblo paraguayo el Gral. Perón hizo la devolución de los trofeos de guerra. Sus palabras fueron: «Vengo como un hombre que viene a rendir homenaje al Paraguay en el nombre del sagrado Mariscal Francisco Solano López y hago llegar el abrazo del pueblo argentino a esta Patria tan respetable y tan querida.
