Army Training - South African (1942)

Unused / unissued material - dates unclear or unknown. South Africa. Various shots of South African troops. First they are lined up for inspection. Troops do PT / Physical Training exercises throwing large logs above their heads. They cross a river on a rope bridge. A soldier slides down a rope slide across the river (looks a little like an assault course). Troops cross a stretch of water in small rowing boats. They are under fire to make the exercise seem more realistic. Shots of a solider firing a machine gun. The soldiers come on shore - they look like commandoes. Great shot of soldier running towards camera with rifle and bayonet aimed at viewer. N.B. There is nothing actually in this film that appears to identify these soldiers as being South African.
