Worker Fired After Recording Laundry Detergent Theft

Santino Burrola says he was stunned when he was told he was fired from the King Soopers store in Arapahoe County, Colorado. He recorded three alleged shoplifters stealing $500 worth of laundry detergent from his employer’s store. As the suspects try to drive off, Burrola tears away the foil covering the license plate. That action directly led to the arrest of the driver. However, he’s still out of a job because he violated the company’s policy against “employees intervening during thefts.“
