Direct from Zbrush to Substance Painter - Part 2 - Decimation Master and FBX
Here is part 2 to go directly from ZBrush to Substance Painter. I cover how to reduce polygon count using Decimation Master. I also have layers that I just keep as they were made in Maya.
There are two options for merging the layers before export. The first is to merge all visible layers and then export each polygroup as its own material.
The second option is to merge to just three subtool layers and export each of those as their own texture set.
To export, use the FBX export options that go with each option. Let me know if you have questions!
