Bergamo, June 28, 2020. Conducted by Riccardo Frizza, with soprano Eleonora Buratto, mezzo-soprano Annalisa Stroppa, tenor Piero Pretti, bass Alex Esposito, all very attached to the region, alongside the Donizetti Opera Choir and Orchestra, with introduction by Francesco Micheli. The Italian city, Donizetti’s birthplace, was one of the places in the world most harshly punished by Covid-19. Donizetti’s funeral mass was broadcast worldwide and attended by the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella.
