In Valencia in eastern Spain due to flooding caused by heavy rains, 158 people died, reported the news agency EFE. According to TV channel RTVE, in a day in this area fell the largest amount of rainfall since 1966, and in 8 hours - the whole annual norm. Search and rescue operations continue - the media reports dozens of missing people.
Meanwhile, in Spain declared three days of mourning. Valencia is now simply unrecognizable: everywhere broken cars and piles of garbage, and the streets have turned into dirty brown rivers. More than 155 thousand houses now remain without light, the work of schools and rail traffic is suspended. Weather warnings remain in place in some regions of the country.
