TRIP REPORT | 4 Engines for Regional | AER LINGUS | Dublin to Birmingham | Avro RJ85 Jumbolino

My first flight ever on the Avroliner RJ 85. An amazing 4-engine jet for regional flights that we can’t almost see nowadays in Europe, being CityJet the last “big“ operator of the model. This was a short hop between Dublin and Birmingham on the Aer Lingus Jumbolino operated by CityJet. While I doubt if they are more economical to operate than E190 or CRJ900, I must say that for the passenger are really comfortable. Especially if you get a seat on the left part of the cabin since its configuration is 2-3. The trip time was around 50 minutes on the air and another 40 minutes on the ground in Dublin. This airport needs a second parallel runway urgently. The delays for departures are exceeding the acceptable limits, in my opinion.
