In December 1994, France Gall moved to Los Angeles with her two children and their cat. The two years that have just passed have been particularly trying, between the disappearance of Michel Berger and the singer’s breast cancer which followed and forced her to postpone her show at Bercy for a few months. While the public support has been a great comfort, the eyes constantly on her and the bad press, shameless, weighs on her. In addition, the absence of her husband and father of her children left her in some disarray regarding their education. The couple had established their respective roles according to their best abilities: she was the mother particularly present for childhood, when adolescence and studies would be more supervised by Michel. When he left, without giving up her life as an artist, her greatest concerns were the happiness and poise of their children.
